Just 23 tweets about the Golden Globes that deserve their own awards

On Sunday night, Hollywood’s best and brightest gathered together at the 75th Golden Globe Awards to celebrate the year’s accomplishments in television and film — and to perhaps even promote a little bit of awareness.

Almost every woman in attendance wore all black as a nod to the “Me Too” movement. Many also wore “Time’s Up” pins in honor of the new fund, which provides legal assistance to women who have experienced sexual harassment, assault, or abuse in the workplace. Oprah Winfrey was honored with the Cecil B. DeMille Award, and gave an utterly breathtaking speech. A slew of presenters, nominees and winners, (including host Seth Meyers) made sure to mention gender equality at every possible juncture.

The show was almost “woke” enough to make you forget that there were zero women nominated for Best Director! (Yet again.)

Regardless of your personal opinions on the evening’s winners and losers, the night certainly elicited an array of hilarious responses on Twitter — many of which probably deserved their own little golden statues:
