You know how you go to the salon for a trim and show your stylist a photo of the celebrity du jour that you wish to emulate with your haircut? You know how that tactic only works about 60% of the time, and you usually just leave with less hair and more disappointment?
Well, if it makes you feel any better, it turns out that dogs can also experience this same level of shame and hairstyle failure.

Mimi the Shih Tzu is an undeniably majestic creature. She is typically the apex of pampered perfection, with a top-notch haircut to match.
However, when Mimi’s family decided to save some money on her monthly trim by giving the groomer more simplistic instructions, the results were … unexpected.
According to owner Josh Pitruzzella, Mimi returned from the groomer’s with a pretty drastic puppy haircut, making her look like “a rat on meth.”
Josh told BuzzFeed that his father told the groomer to only give Mimi a “trim,” which only cost $35 as opposed to the typical full-cut price of $150. However, the trim left Mimi with a completely shaved torso and preposterously long ears and tail.
Poor Mimi! Her new haircut looks ridiculous and it isn’t even her fault! What’s an embarrassed diva to do?
Clearly, this pup has no idea what happened to her lustrous mane of hair, but she’s pretty chagrined about it.
The internet couldn’t help but laugh hysterically at Mimi’s misfortune — because humans know that a bad haircut, while tragic, is undeniable comic gold. Twitter followers have become totally obsessed with the shoddily-shorn little Shih Tzu …
There are, however, numerous unfavorable comparisons between Mimi and and certain pop-culture icons, which include Dave Hill …
… and William H. Macy’s character, Frank, from Shameless.
Other pet owners even sympathized with Josh’s plight, having experienced similarly embarrassing doggy trims.
Fortunately, Josh says that Mimi has taken the mortification in stride, even if she has been exhibiting some passive-aggressive behavior.
“She’s a really good dog and even though she peed in my bed today (probably because I humiliated her all over social media), I wouldn’t want any other dog,” Josh told BuzzFeed.
The moral of the story? You don’t choose to skimp on a lady’s haircut, fellas. It is a delicate art form, and corners cannot be cut.
