Even Adele Thinks Beyoncé Deserved The Grammy For Album Of The Year

Apparently, Adele is a huge Beyoncé fan.

At the 59th Annual Grammy Awards, Adele won the award for Album of the Year and she appeared to be just as shocked as the rest of the world. In a moving acceptance speech, she confesses that she doesn’t deserve the honor, Beyoncé does, and even breaks the trophy to share with Queen Bey.

On the red carpet before the show, Adele wore a lemon pin on her dress to show her support of Beyoncé’s album Lemonade.

You better stan, Adele!

When Adele won the Grammy for Album of the Year later in the evening, she used her speech to say that Beyoncé deserved the award instead of her.

She even pulled a Mean Girls and snapped the trophy in half to share with Bey.

Nice try Adele, Cady did it first.

In the interview after the show, Adele fangirls over Beyoncé even more and asks the interviewer “what the f*ck does she have to do to win Album of the Year?”

It’s a valid question. What does she have to do to win? Beyoncé has previously lost the Album of the Year award to Taylor Swift in 2009 and Beck in 2014. Adele’s 25 is an amazing album, but Beyonce’s Lemonade was an undeniable phenomenon.

Frank Ocean penned a strongly worded letter yesterday outlining the cultural bias of the Recording Academy when it comes to black artists, and it seems to have struck once again. Beyoncé has been blessing us with excellence for the past 20 years and she has yet to be recognized, but it was incredibly heartwarming for Adele to use her platform to finally do it.

But hey, at least we got some solid memes out of the show.
