The First Trailer For ‘Casting JonBenét’ Is Here And It’s Extremely Disturbing

More than twenty years have passed since one of the most notorious child murder cases in history sent shockwaves throughout the world. Dozens of TV specials have been created to commemorate the beloved JonBenét Ramsey, but none are likely to unnerve viewers the way Netflix’s highly anticipated documentary will.

Casting JonBenét is said to be one of the most in-depth, disturbing and utterly heartbreaking takes on the young beauty queen’s story yet and the trailer is finally here.

The first official trailer for Casting JonBenét has been released and it will chill you to the bone.

According to The Hollywood Reporterdirector Kitty Green re-examines the infamous case through an original lens that viewers have yet to experience. Green takes special care to explore the emotions of her cast and capture how the murder affected each and every one of them.

The in-depth documentary was filmed over 15 months in which responses, reflections and performances were elicited from the Ramsey’s Colorado hometown community.

“Ultimately, this evolves into a layered meditation on many things — crime and guilt, the exploitation of children and acting itself, to name just a few. The film is playful, prismatic but ultimately richly moving.”  THR critic Leslie Felperin wrote.

Needless to say, Green’s approach may drastically alter the way we’ve viewed this heartbreaking case for the past 20 years.

Mark your calendars, Casting JonBenét hits Netflix on April 28th.
