When you think back to your younger years of themed birthday parties, what comes to mind? Princess decor or Power Ranger party hats, maybe?
Well, one little girl from St. Louis had a very unique theme in mind for her birthday celebration—a poop party. Yes, poop and it might be the most oddly adorable idea we’ve ever heard.
When little Audrey from Missouri was asked by her mom what kind of party she wanted to have for her third birthday, she had one answer: POOP.
Audrey’s mom Rebecca said after months of asking their toddler what she really wanted for her birthday party theme, she was insistent upon poop.
“For months, every time we mentioned her party, Audrey requested ‘poop balloons and a poop cake,’” Rebecca told The Huffington Post. “I tried suggesting other themes, but she always insisted on poop.”
Ultimately, Rebecca and her husband decided to embrace the weird and give Audrey an all-out poop extravaganza.
What does one do at a “poop party” you may ask? Well, thanks to Rebecca’s creativity there were plenty of unique fecal-related activities.
Guests played “pin the poop,” whacked a a poop emoji-shaped piñata filled with Tootsie Rolls and Hershey’s Kisses, and were treated to whoopee cushion party favors.
As well as a poop-themed cake and cookies.
Okay, that cake is seriously unreal.
Rebecca even donned her very own poop costume.
She insisted that everyone loved the party and got a kick out of the rather unique theme.
“I expected the grandparents to question it, but they all just laughed when I told them,” Rebecca added.
She said that the party’s non-traditional theme reflected her daughter’s personality in many ways.
“Audrey is definitely her own person,” she explained. “I hope she always has the confidence she has now. She is so funny and the best big sister.”
Rebecca also hopes that Audrey’s party will serve as a reminder to other parents that, at the end of the day, it’s about making your kid happy and not stressing about perfection.
“I feel like in this time of Facebook and Pinterest, we sometimes get caught up in trying to impress other adults,” she said. “This party wasn’t for me, it was for Audrey. I love that we will look back at pictures, and it will represent her at 3 ― my funny and quirky little girl.”
So. Damn. Cute.
