This Girl Actually Used A Spotify Playlist To Break Up With A Guy, And It’s Pretty Savage

People typically choose to get “creative” when it comes to anniversaries, proposals, weddings, and pretty much any kind of relationship celebration. But what about those people who decide to get “creative” with the manner in which they end a relationship?

One college student in Utah recently ended things with a guy by creating a Spotify breakup playlist — because I guess saying “It’s not you, it’s me” is just way too complicated and outdated nowadays?

Brigham Young University students Kirsten Titus (19) and Wyatt Hall (20) had been casually dating for a little while when Titus decided that she wanted to end things.

“We went on a lot of creative dates … (But) I think the both of us we were starting to feel we were better as friends,” Titus told BuzzFeed. “I thought if I was going to end things with him I wanted to do it in a creative way.”

(Sure, because that lessens the sting of rejection, right?)

Titus decided to create a Spotify playlist composed of song titles which conveyed the message “Do You Still Want To Kiss Me Because I Am Kinda Lovin’ Someone Else But We Can Still Be Friends.”

Both ice cold and pure genius.

Titus’ younger sister, Erika, noticed the playlist and couldn’t resist tweeting about it.

Titus was initially mortified by the unceremonious online reveal …

… but Wyatt wasn’t playing the victim here, and responded to Titus’ playlist with one of his own.

Despite this salty comeback, Wyatt told BuzzFeed that he’s not brokenhearted by the trite playlist, and that his relationship with Titus wasn’t really serious enough to warrant a serious breakup conversation.

“I thought it was kind of funny, honestly,” he says.

Welp. Even though this somehow ended well for this particular couple, maybe don’t try this playlist trick when breaking things off with your own partner — because even though it’s kind of brilliant, it’s also kind of a dick move.
