Many women want to feel like a princess on their wedding day, and go to great lengths to make sure they have a full fairytale ballgown with all the trimmings. However, there’s something to be said for feeling both beautiful and comfortable.
For women who aren’t so keen on being stuffed into a bodice or layers of taffeta, there is a new wedding trend that may just fit you perfectly: wedding jumpsuits.
Now, before you roll your eyes and scoff, let me be clear: I am most certainly not talking about Ghostbusters-style uniforms, or the leisure suits worn by old men in the ’70s.
I am talking about feminine, flirty wedding pantsuits that are both surprisingly flattering and devastatingly comfy.
Just imagine: you’re going to (most likely) be on your feet for most of the wedding and the reception. Do you really want to be worried about stepping on your train at every given moment?
Some wedding jumpsuits are even fashioned to be a bit more billowy, for the bride who doesn’t want to fully forego the concept of a skirt.
Hell, you can even add a skirt over the pants, if you’re so inclined.
And CAPES? Yes. I am telling you, the sky is the limit in terms of wedding jumpsuit alterations and personalizations.
Bottom line: wearing pants to your wedding doesn’t mean that you have to sacrifice looking romantic or feminine.
And if it’s good enough for Solange, it’s good enough for the rest of us, dammit!
Even if you have your heart set on an actual full dress for your ceremony, definitely keep these quirky jumpsuits in the back of your mind. After all, you may decide to keep one on hand to change into after the ceremony and before the reception — which, if you’re planning to dance the night away, would be a very solid idea, indeed.
