If you’ve ever taken a childhood vacation to New York or Los Angeles, then there’s a decent chance you’ve visited Madame Tussaud’s to take a gander at the collection of supposedly lifelike celebrity wax figures.
Oftentimes, Madame Tussaud’s does a stellar job of imitating a celebrity likeness. However, there are always going to be some swings and some misses.
Recently, Madame Tussaud’s unveiled its new Beyoncé wax figure in New York. And, um … it does not look like Beyoncé.
Who is that person??
This certainly wasn’t the first time wax figure makers have shamed the likeness of ‘Yoncé — but the fact that there are so many failed attempts really adds insult to injury.
Fans also couldn’t help but notice that this wax figure looks like a straight-up white person.
Perhaps Madame Tussaud’s meant for this figure to represent a different pop star?
A lot of people really think that the figure looks more like Lindsay Lohan than Beyoncé
Seriously, Madame Tussaud’s — WHO IS THIS WOMAN??
And don’t try to tell these angry fans that accurate wax figures are impossible to achieve — a recent and stunningly lifelike Kylie Jenner figure has officially put that notion to rest.
Madame Tussaud’s released a statement to TMZ after the backlash, saying, “Our talented team of sculptors takes every effort to ensure we accurately color match all of our wax figures to the celebrity being depicted. Lighting within the attraction combined with flash photography may distort and misrepresent the color of our wax figures.”
Fortunately, the Beyoncé wax figure in London is much more accurate, and fans are taking comfort in its presence.
I guess there really is only one Beyoncé.
