Fans of American Horror Story have been eagerly lapping up the maddening, mystifying and scarce details of the upcoming season like gulls with breadcrumbs (your truly included). And, fortunately for all of us hungry fangirls, there’s even more cud to chew on: some of the casting/character details for the new season of FX’s cult success have just been revealed.
Ryan Murphy, the creator behind American Horror Story, recently shared some rather compelling details about the upcoming seventh season, American Horror Story: Cult. According to Murphy’s Instagram, Evan Peters and Sarah Paulson will play characters Ally and Kai, who are involved in “a love story for the ages.”
The news was accompanied by the most Tim Burton-esque character sketch of all time:
This will mark the second time these actors have coupled up on AHS. Paulson and Peters also played a married couple during the latter half of American Horror Story: Roanoke, as you may remember.
The upcoming season is set to heavily incorporate elements of the 2016 election — but with an added dose of creepy clowns, apparently. Just take a gander at the new teaser trailer, and brace yourself for a veritable overload of disturbing clown paint.
While it’s unclear what exactly is going to unfold from here, I can say with certainty that there are sure to be more creepy clowns in our future.
