What it’s about: Each season is it’s own self-contained, horror miniseries, each taking place in a different super creepy setting.
Bonus: Stellar acting performances from lady legends like Sarah Paulson, Jessica Lange, Cathy Bates, and Lady Gaga.

2. Fuller House
What it’s about: Netflix’s reboot of the 90s family sitcom Full House picks up 20 years later. Eldest daughter DJ is left widowed with 3 children, and moves back into her childhood home with the support of her sister, and best friend.
Bonus: Almost all of the show’s original ’87-’95 starring cast returned for the reboot, with the exception of the Olsen twins.

What it’s about: A medical drama that focuses on the fictional lives of Seattle Grace’s surgical interns and doctors, as they wrestle work and their personal lives.
Bonus: Prolific producer and screenwriter Shonda Rhimes (Scandal, Private Practice, How to Get Away with Murder) is behind the show, so you know it’s good.

What it’s about: The show follows college professor and practicing defense attorney Annalise Keating and her students, all of whom have become intertwined in a murder.
Bonus: The show gave Viola Davis the first ever Emmy Award given to a black woman for “Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series,” and damn did she earn it.

What it’s about: Acting icon James Spader plays a former Navy officer turned FBI fugitive who’s been on the run for 20 years. He surrenders himself over, offering to inform on other criminals for immunity from prosecution for his crimes.

What it’s about: A DC-based political thriller, centering on the staff of Olivia Pope’s Crisis management firm and the pressures of a political landscape.
Bonus: Scandal‘s premise is partially based on the crisis management and PR background of former Bush Sr. administration press aide Judy Smith, who receives a co-executive producer credit on the show.

What it’s about: Residents of a fictional Maine town are actually fairy tale characters who have been transported into the present day by a magical curse, and robbed of their memories of their former selves.

What it’s about: Kara is sent to Earth from the planet Krypton at age 13 to protect her cousin, Kal-El. But her ship is waylaid for 24 years before she actually makes it to the planet. In that time Kal-El has become Superman, and Kara has to learn how to manage the same powers.

12. Jane the Virgin
What it’s about: A religious Latina is accidentally artificially inseminated during a routine checkup, and decides to carry the baby to term for adoption by a couple. But she soon starts to fall for the husband.
Bonus: The show’s storyline parodies the outrageous scenarios often found in Spanish telenovelas.

13. Stranger Things
What it’s about: In 1983, group of kids go in search of answers when their friend mysteriously disappears from their Indiana town. Aided by a spooky telekinetic girl they encounter, the kids inadvertently find themselves monster-hunting to get their friend back.
Bonus: The creative story and incredible acting is only bolstered by an awesomely nostalgic 80’s soundtrack.
