These are the reasons you and your ex will probably never work out Mackenzie Ryan on Nov 2, 2017 in Dating, Forever Single, Sex & Dating 1 You know what always pissed me off when going through a break up? It was always that attempt to add a greater meaning to it all. Sometimes she’d blame timing, or fate, or the fact that we were “right people, wrong time” or some shit like that, and that if we were meant to be, we’d find each other again. I always hoped that she’d just find the door and leave me alone. For me, it was what it was. If we don’t work now, we’re not gonna. 2Via Casino.org First of all, you need to understand why it ended. Considering that today, you have to go on plenty of dates, dating apps and what not to find “The One,” odds are, you’ll have ample opportunity to go through a breakup or two, before you settle down. The survey found that, when it comes to breakups, people prefer to consider them the ones doing the breaking up, rather than the other way around. When pressed for a specific reason why they chose to end it, the majority said they had “different long-term goals” from their partner. Also, 1 in 10 Americans said that it was either distance or dishonesty that doomed their love. I totally understand both. 3Via Casino.org No one really wants to think about letting “The One” go over something trivial. Given the wide variety of answers that were given for why the relationship ended, the survey asked what issues people were willing to overlook to reconnect with an ex. According to the survey, people were willing to overlook exes that were on drugs, were liars, and were financially irresponsible. Over half of those surveyed even admitted that if they were cheated on in the past, they wouldn’t consider it a deal breaker now. That just seems a little desperate to me. I think you deserve better. 4Via Casino.org So, what makes someone make the decision to pursue an ex? As it turns out, it’s life changes. Take note, though. It’s not just as simple as making people jealous or becoming more attractive that entices people to take a second look at their ex, but major changes and long-term commitments go along way and have a positive impact on your old/new partner. As well, as much as people will give you grief for remaining friends with an ex, 47% said that by reconnecting as friends, led to them rekindling their love. So that’s a point for the friend zone, I guess. The final factor was their future potential; i.e. are they willing to get married, have kids, spend your lives together? If yes, then you have a chance at a happily ever after. 5Via Casino.org Now onto the more mystical side of relationships. I don’t personally put a lot of stock in this, but the survey did find that astrology has a huge influence on whether or not you’ll get back with an ex. It all has to do with forgiveness. The survey found that people with Gemini and Sagittarius as their signs, were the most forgiving of people that they broke up with. On the other hand, Libras were the most forgiving when they were the ones dumped. As for the least forgiving, it’s Aquarius and Scorpio – they’re more unpredictable, resentful and jealous. Wish someone had told me that sooner, and saved me some trouble in my dating history. 6Via Casino.org Now, astrology is one thing, but divine intervention is a completely different set of dating circumstances. According to the survey, plenty of Americans believe in fate playing a part in their relationships. Within this survey, the people that believed in fate, had a better chance of revisiting a past relationship, than those who didn’t. So if you’re looking to get back with an ex, the whole divine aspect of your far-reaching love might be the trick to win her back. Maybe. 7Via Casino.org And finally, the Chinese zodiac. Much like Western astrology, the Chinese Zodiac suggests that the constellations and planets impact our daily lives, based on the year we were born. According to the survey, women born in the year of the dog (including 1982 and 1994) are most likely to forgive someone who broke up with them. The same can’t be said for men born in the year of the dog, despite the belief that Dogs are excessively loyal and kind-hearted. On the other hand, Women born under the Tiger (1974, 1986 or 1988) show bravery and charisma, and will forgive someone they’ve chosen to break up with. Men, in that same vein, born in the year of the Rabbit (1975, 1987, 1999) will forgive someone after they’ve given them the heave-ho. 8 So, what are we left with? Well, according to the survey, for the majority of Americans, once a relationship was done, it was over. There was no chance of rekindling any sort of reunion. That’s the majority. There was a third of the group that did want to try again, and those relied on certain personality traits that stemmed from beliefs in fate and cosmology. For everyone else, there’s too many new body parts out there that you haven’t seen, that you probably should go check out. I leave in the hands of the wisest man I know: 9GIF Go find yourself some strange. You’re welcome. Via Casino.org 10 This post first appeared on theCHIVE.
