Like all the other challenges (Ice Bucket, Mannequin and Ariana Grande’s stool, for example) that have plagued the internet over the past couple of years, this one may have already reached it’s peak, but we’re still enjoying watching the successes (and failures) for a little while longer.
The Box Challenge, as it’s come to be known, was started by Anderson University football player Dontez Hines, who’s viral tweet is still blowing our minds.
But Manvel High School Çheerleader Ariel Olivar has seen Dontez’ Box Challenge and crushed it to a cardboard pulp.
The dab at the end is so joyous, I’m just really, truly happy for her!
Ariel’s tweet was posted presumably after her school’s football game last Friday, and it’s already reached viral madness, with over 140K retweets, and almost double the amount of favorites.
She even went on the Today Show to show off her skills, and give the anchors a run down of how exactly one pulls off such a feat.
They even tried it themselves – on air.
Hint: the illusion is all in the stationary leg.
Twitter is only adding fuel to the Box Challenge fire.
This challenge can only result in dramatic wins or epic losses, there is no middle ground. Not one worth watching, anyways.
Ariel posted this follow-up to her Box Challenge tweet, which is better IMHO.
Honestly, these are worthy attempts, but nothing compares to Ariel and Dontez’ feats of agility. We’re betting these athletes have very bright futures ahead of them, but if they ever need a side gig, miming could be worth the hustle.
