As much as I love Harry Potter memorabilia, even I am forced to admit that the merchandise occasionally veers into the “slightly cheesy” category. Though I’m a huge fan of the book series, I’m not always likely to buy into the accessories.
However, this new line of stylish Harry Potter bags has me rethinking my stance entirely.
Purse designer Danielle Nicole has partnered with Warner Bros. to create a batch of clutches and backpacks that are — forgive me — pretty magical. Each Hogwarts house gets its own appropriately-themed pouch and clutch, so you can flaunt your Slytherin/Ravenclaw/Gryffindor/Hufflepuff devotion in the most fabulous possible way.
The pouches come with handy straps, are embroidered with a glittery insignia of their respective house, and will run you $38.
Take a gander at proud Gryffindor …
… loyal Hufflepuff …
… wise Ravenclaw …
… and cunning Slytherin.
There are also cute clutches, which are inspired by the different house robes.
Each clutch comes with a chain, as well as three interior card slots.
They’ll run you $48 apiece. (Not sure what the Galleon conversion rate is?)
The perfect size for carrying any small potion bottles. (Like Felix Felicis, perhaps?)
Oh, and if you need more room for (small) spell books, there’s this awesome little backpack, with an exterior pocket, which will run you about $78.
It’s likely that these will fly off the shelves, so you’d better jump on this opportunity if there’s a Potterhead in your life you’re hoping to please.
And, if you were wanting to get me a little something for the holidays, here’s me DROPPING HINTS, AHEM.
